PATENT ASSOCIATE 1995 – 1996 Patent Associate for Skjerven, Morrill, MacPherson, Franklin & Friel LLP, San Jose, California. Prepared and prosecuted patent applications in electronics and computer engineering. Prepared patent infringement analyses.

Software Quality Assurance Engineer for Zembu Labs, Inc., testing Palo Alto, California. Developed automated UNIX test suites in PERL and shell scripts for network protocols such as DNS, NTP and SNMP; for testing VPNs such as data routing on network failure, encryption, and key exchange; and for testing Oracle to Postgres translation, with syntax validation and error generation. Wrote guide for writing functional specifications.

SENIOR ASSOCIATE ENGINEER January 1988- August 1989
Senior Associate Engineer for International Business Machines in San Jose, California. Wrote communications program used to test a new IBM storage device. Conducted design reviews and wrote technical manuals for communications programs. Wrote “C” interfaces allowing users to access functions of communications programs.

ASSOCIATE ENGINEER July 1986 – December 1987
Associate Engineer for International Business Machines in San Jose, California. Developed hardware and software design changes to adapt test equipment for new IBM products. Aided in the debug of IBM storage devices.
